Rapidly deployable aeronautical paint shop

Based in Saint-Dizier, France, Air Force Base 113 is home to some 1,700 military personnel, as well as 50 Rafale aircraft. Its operations are mainly focused on deterrence, protection during operations and training. Our paint shops have been developed in response to their growing need for a rapidly deployable solution enabling them to carry out paint touch-ups on their aircraft fleet.

Rapidly deployable aeronautical paint shop

Diversification of our standard P16 shelters

As part of our contract with the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, we had already supplied several Bachmann-type hangars to Air Force Base 113 over the years, and it was then that we became aware of their growing need for infrastructures adapted to aeronautical paint touch-ups.

As our hangars were already designed for air-conditioning and exhaust gas recirculation systems, it didn't take us long to develop a suitable solution for filtering paint particles, with horizontal drying.

Our concept was quickly approved and applauded because, for several years now, the French Air Force has been looking for an efficient, rapidly deployable alternative to costly permanent buildings or off-site service providers.

What have we delivered?

Based on our standard P16 structures, whose size and design have been optimized for aircraft access and storage, we have developed a mobile blower system specially designed for horizontal paint drying, as well as an air extraction system equipped with particle filters. The structure is also equipped with our standard humidity control system and VOC particle detectors to ensure optimum painting conditions.
