Emergency medical care for 335 Covid-19 patients

On April 1, 2020, the international evangelical Christian humanitarian NGO Samaritan's Purse set up a 68-bed emergency field hospital equipped with breathing apparatus in Central Park to provide life-saving care for patients suffering from coronavirus.

Samaritan's Purse worked alongside Mount Sinai Health System for five weeks to care for 335 Covid-19 patients. Medical teams worked around the clock to bring hope and care to those affected by the virus, reminding New York City that it was not alone in this battle.

Samaritan's Purse is a world-renowned evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization, whose Christian missionary work focuses primarily on helping people in need. Their contribution during the Covid-19 crisis was widely publicized and critically acclaimed when they used their private jet to fly to Cremona, Italy, to help the Italian Civil Defence in its fight against the virus, and then set up a field hospital in Central Park, New York, as Covid-19 hit the USA hard.
